Former WWE Referee Rips Cody Rhodes For Bleeding On Dynamite

Former WWE referee Jimmy Korderas has hit out at Cody Rhodes for his blood use on AEW Dynamite this week.

Korderas has been posting what he's branded "Reffin Rants" on Twitter and, while he's been critical of AEW's refereeing in the past, he's admitted that there have been improvements.

In his latest bit, the ex-WWE ref spoke about Rhodes' TNT Championship match with Jungle Boy. Cody successfully defended his title but he got his skin broken during the fight, something Korderas says is unacceptable given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

"I can go on and on about the refereeing and the lack of logic and the way they distract the referees being uncreative and just brutal burying the referees," he says in the video below.

"There was something else that happened last night. Cody Rhodes hard-waying himself and getting blood, getting sympathy upon himself in his match against Jungle Boy. Yes, I understand the goal was to get Jungle Boy to the next level, elevate him even though he was going to lose the match, and that was possible to do without the use of blood.

"We have to think about the times we're in right now. Yes, we want to evolve pro wrestling. Yes, we want it to get better, be creative, and think outside of the box, but the one thing we shouldn't be thinking about is the use of blood. Yes, it ain't ballet. Accidents happen, but this was no accident. It was intentional. We're living in pandemic times. Blood is a no-no. Plain and simple."

AEW Loves Blood

AEW has been pretty big on blood since making its debut last year. Cody and his brother Dustin Rhodes were involved in a very bloody affair in the promotion's first PPV, Double or Nothing.

It was later reported that TNT had sanctioned the use of blood on TV shows as the network was keen on giving the startup company every advantage it possibly could.

AEW had also promoted a TV special called Blood & Guts, which was supposed to take place on March 25, but postponed the show indefinitely as a result of the pandemic.
